In this set of exercises you will analyze compound sentences. Analyze means "split."
For each sentence, you will do the following:
- Get rid of the conjunction and, but, or or that joins the sentences.
- You will usually make the comma into a period.
- If the original sentence ended with a question mark, you will use question marks at the ends of the new sentences.
- You will capitalize the first word of each sentence.
- Sometimes you will replace but with However,— be sure to include that comma after "However"!
- Sometimes you will replace or with Otherwise,— be sure to include that comma after "Otherwise"!
